Permit Information

All appointments for Inspections should be made at least (2) two working days in advance to ensure Zoning Officer or agent is available.

Before removing a mobile home from the Township, a permit must be obtained from the Tax Collector.
 

The following permits must be obtained from the Zoning Officer:
  1. Building Permit - for any new construction, alteration, addition, swimming pool or fence.
  2. Driveway Permit - for any new driveway intersecting a Township road. Property owners along a state road must contact Penn DOT, Cumberland County Maintenance.
  3. Roadway Cut Permit is required when any type of construction requires opening the Township right-of-way or road surface.
  4. Sign Permit for any sign installation, including replacing signs.
  5. Junkyard Permit - annual permit for junkyard operation.
  6. Yard Sale Permit - There is no fee involved. Residents are limited to two per year.  
          

     Building Permits, Pools & Spas


The following permits must be obtained from the Police Department:

  1. Peddlers Permit - for any door-to-door sales.
  2. Mechanical Devices Permit - for any pinball/video machine installation.

Other Permit Information

  • An Amusement Tax Permit may be obtained from the Township secretary for any amusement for which admission is charged.
  • Dog Licenses are mandatory for dogs three months and older. Applications are available at the County Treasurer's Office in the new Courthouse in Carlisle, or a mail in application is available at the Township Office.
  • Mail in Voter Registration Forms are available in the Township Office or by contacting Voter's Registration at 240-6385 or 697-0371.

Applications for On Lot Sewage System Permits for new systems and repairs to existing systems are available at the township office.  Fees must be paid at time of application.  Permits are issued by township SEO.

Property Maintenance Information

The Township has adopted the International Code Council Property Maintenance Code, 2003 Edition to regulate necessary maintenance for all properties in the Township.  Please follow the link below for a sample text of this code
